about our story:
Sweetly Dorm was born out of Lynne W. Gassant's passion for creativity and her desire to make a difference in the lives of first-generation college students. As a first-gen herself and a student who lived on campus, Lynne understands the excitement and challenges that come with living in a college dorm. Lynne graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a bachelor's degree in public management and a master's in human resources. She worked in corporate HR for over 15 years and spent a decade in the nonprofit education sector.
Her journey began as a hobby, encouraged by her husband, and quickly evolved into an adventure driven by her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to serving others. With a background in nonprofit education and corporate business HR, Lynne combines her expertise with her love for tech and décor to create platforms that enhance the whole student experience. Beyond Sweetly Dorm, Lynne is the founder of Scholar Career Coaching, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing high school first-generation students and English Language Learners for college and the workforce since 2012. As a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority and a former contestant in the Mrs. Florida United States Pageant, Lynne brings her passion for community and service to everything she does. She resides in Florida with her husband and their two children.
